I’m proud to say that we’re going to reopen the roleplay for questions today and hopefully start a new, improved era of Return of the Dark.
Our new site can be found here and you are all welcome to come check it out and reapply once we open for that. The first batch of characters should be released sometime next week.

Hi guys,
We’re sorry that we had to revamp the roleplay completely, but it needed to be done, and now we can start anew. We’ve looked through the roleplay and took note of our mistakes, and that’s why we needed to revamp. We’d like to thank everybody that roleplayed with RoTD in the past, and now we have good news for you. We have finished our first batch of bios and are working on our second one, and that therefore we are proud to say that the revamp is going quite well. Later in the week, we will distribute the new link to you all and open RoTD once again for questions.
About the revamp:
For those who haven’t heard, the plot is starting back at the beginning of the year, and to avoid disagreements, there will be no set ships. Everything that had happened previously in this roleplay hasn’t occurred, except for the revival of the Death Eaters and the D.A. The plot is starting from the same point as before, but we’ve rewritten it in more detail to avoid confusion. We hope that you will all reapply once we open the roleplay completely. We’ve worked extremely hard on this revamp, and hope for it to be a success. When we do open for questions, we will also allow faceclaim suggestions. Just please note that not all suggestions will be accepted; some are on FC ban, and some are already taken. Thank you guys for staying with us until the very end, but now we’re setting our time turner back to the beginning of RoTD to assure the success or our roleplay.
Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to put up a little note telling you all what’s been going on and how the revamp is progressing as well as clear up something that has become an issue.
First, I don’t know if any of you have noticed but someone has copied our plot and our characters and made a new roleplay out of it called: “The Dark Has Returned” This is not the revamped site nor was it approved by us. When we do reopen we will provide a link and a small note so you are all aware of it. I’m sorry if any of you were confused about this and I hope that you’ll stick around with us until we have officially reopened.
Now on to the better news, the revamp is going very well so far, and we’re done with a lot of the major parts. We’ve removed some of the old OC’s whose characters we didn’t write and have added some new ones along with more Professors and interns. We’re hoping that we can have the roleplay up and running again by the end of May. Until then I’ll continue writing small notes in order to let you know what has been going on or to clarify any future developments.

For the past several months the roleplay has consistently been declining in the family community and the quality. It’s no longer the place it once was, and it’s become a chore to run it rather than the joy it once was. There have been numerous attempts to amend this problem, each of which have either gone unnoticed or were successful for a short amount of time before the problems escalated again.
We’re not fully closing the roleplay, however after a long discussion we’ve decided to revamp it and start afresh. It’ll be set in the start of the school year, and if you would like to stay you’ll have to reapply same as everyone who might be new. Some of our old characters are staying however some of the bios will be added onto or will be reworked completely. We are unsure as to how long this will take, however we will be opening again when we are done. Up until that time you may keep your characters and roleplay as we usually do. Just there won’t be any supervision or admining happening. Once we open we ask that you do not continue playing on your old blogs and simply reapply.
I’m really sorry that we have to do this, but the cliques and the bad environment has become an environment that we cannot work with anymore. And we want to give this roleplay the opportunity to grow and get back the feel it once had. If you have any questions you may always come to me and I’d be happy to answer any questions. In addition, Megan and Rina will be joining us and helping us revamp the roleplay. A hope you don’t think that this’ll mean the end of the roleplay, because it’s just the start of a new, and improved Return of the Dark.
